Our New Home! Check out our snow!

Here is the moment you have all been waiting for! We are finally posting a picture of our new home. We just closed on Friday so it is officially ours! Poor Nate gets a workout every day when he shovels our driveway. Check out how long that thing is!

Time in the slammer!

While at the Grand Canyon, we stopped in a Wild West town setup. Roberta got to put Nate in jail. It was lots of fun!

Grand Canyon!

We took our time on our drive to Idaho and spent a night and a day in Vegas. From Vegas we took a small plane to the Grand Canyon. It was Roberta's first time to go and it was a cool site to see from up in the air. We spent a couple hours there hiking around and had a barbecue lunch cooked by some of the Native Americans in the area. Even though it looks like Roberta is the one afraid of heights in this picture... it is actually Nate.

One of our other favorite things to do in Phoenix was hike. We had made a habit of going every day after work and we are proud to say that we conquered two of the most difficult mountain trails in the area. Will will absolutely be frequenting the mountains in Idaho as soon as this snow melts!

Go Coyotes!

Well... for those of you that have not heard yet, we just moved to Idaho Falls! Nate got a job at INL and so we left our beautifully warm Phoenix winter. We spent our last couple weeks in Phoenix doing the things that we love most there.... Hockey Games!!!!! Living just a couple of blocks away from the stadium, we have become huge Coyotes fans this last year. We are going to miss it, but will still be supporting our team from our living room.

Our next stop was Ocean Side. We ate some great fish and chips and then kayaked around the bay. We gave ourselves a lesson on the importance of communication. Roberta would paddle one way and Nate another. After we argued about what direction we wanted to go and then made up, it was an enjoyable ride.

We took the tram up to the top of the mountain in Palm Springs and found some amazing trails to hike. The trails were lined with Jeffery Pines and they smelled of Butterscotch. Delicious!

We spent our honeymoon in S. California. Our first stop was Palm Springs. We ate some good food and toured the town. Second stop was Disney Land and California Adventure. It was Roberta's first time to go. We had all of the magic and adventure that we could fit in one day.

Getting married was a scarry thing for both of us, but it is the best decision that we ever could have made. We are having so much fun and are loving life!

We had so much support from our family and friends. Everyone has been too good to us!

Hurray! We did it! We just hit our two months mark. Married life has been a blast. We have been busy with work, church callings in our spanish ward, hiking, learning how to cook, and our new hobby.... cross stiching. Life is good!

She accepted! Now comes the fun part. Getting ready for a wedding in just under two months. Piece of Cake. Mesa Temple here we come.

So we went up one of our favorite hiking trails and I had one of Roberta's roommates plant some surprises for us at the top of the hill. Something cold to drink, some cheesecake, and a couple of other things. At the point of taking this picture Roberta just thinks I'm just being sweet and still has no idea!

Finally!

The ring finally came and it was time to get to work. I received it at about 10:30am and I proposed 10 hours later. We had to wait until after our callings were fulfilled of course but Roberta had no idea it was coming. Bryon did a really good job on making it.

Go Diamondbacks

Two friends invited us to go with them to see a game and use their Season Tickets. I was way good. We played the Braves and went into the 11th Inning before we won. Very cool.

Roswell Alien Adventure

Well, I'm not going to lie. This was the best trip we have ever made! One of our good friends was getting married in Juarez Mexico so we thought we would make a quick detour to check out what was going on in Roswell, New Mexico. It worked out well because we got there just in time for the 60th Anniversary of the Crash Landing! Sweet!

Fossil Springs

This place was fantastic. We hiked in on Friday, late afternoon, swam like crazy on Saturday, and hiked back out that night. It was great. Hiking with all our gear was an experience but we can't wait to do it again. The water was cool and crystal clear.

Hiking in Sedona

Now this was cool. Sedona is about an hour and a half north of Phoenix and has some amazing hiking. The public library lent us a book to find the best ones and we made a day of it. Very cool.

National Treasures

This was pretty cool too. This is where the have the original Constitution and Bill of Rights. The line was pretty substantial but thats the price you pay... oh ya, it was free to hit all these places.

Trip to DC

This was a fun trip to get out of Phoenix a little bit and get to know at least a little of the East Coast. The DC Temple is amazing. We spent a good chunk of time walking around the grounds and enjoying the flowers everywhere but the inside was fantastic. Our skilled photographer Sonia took this picture and as you can see its worth every penny we gave her...we even have a bird in the pic.
